Where you living now and what are you up to? Are you married and/or have any children? I currently live in Jerusalem attending Yeshiva Machon Yaakov. What is your favorite memory from your HF trip to Israel? My favorite memory of HF was spending time in, all be it a short, Sderot. What was the greatest lesson you learned from your Hasbara Fellowships training? Or greatest pro-Israel activism success story? : My greatest Israel activism success story was when the Indiana State treasurer contacted me on why Israel is important. We had met at a prior engagement and had exchanged information. I told him if he had any questions regarding the US-Israel relationship to call me, and he did. What does Jewish leadership mean to you? Jews are hardwired to go after what is important. However, importance is often clouded by misperception. Leadership to me is actualizing the importance of a moment and positioning yourself to make an impact. Opportunities arise in every occasion. When the right circumstances present themselves we as Jewish leaders must be prepared to command. If you could share any wisdom with current campus activists what would it be? Reach out to organizations that you normally do not have contact with. Don't be afraid to depart from your comfort zone and open up to those specific obscure organizations. Just because you are a white male does not mean you have nothing in common with the african american women in business organization. You never know where your pro-Israel allies lie in wait yearning to be discovered. Noah KadishWhere you living now and what are you up to? Are you married and/or have any children? Toronto, final year of law school. What is your favorite memory from your HF trip to Israel? Spending time with the amazing people. What was the greatest lesson you learned from your Hasbara Fellowships training? Or greatest pro-Israel activism success story? I remember being amazed and reassured by discovering how many people were working so hard on other campuses. There are many stories which impressed me and which I will not forget. Noa Naftali
Where you living now and what are you up to? Are you married and/or have any children? I am currently a junior at Tufts university and am the Hasbara campus coordinator for Tufts! What is your favorite memory from your HF trip to Israel? Every day studying near the Kotel was amazing. What was the greatest lesson you learned from your Hasbara Fellowships training? Or greatest pro-Israel activism success story? I learned so many useful skills from Hasbara Fellowships that I employed once back on campus. One of the greatest tools I learned to utilize was that of co=sponsorships and getting other groups invested in Israel through them. What does Jewish leadership mean to you? Jewish leadership means being a leader where leaders are needed, it means listening to the needs of your community, and moreover, it means being a part of a team with other smart and capable people from whom you can learn. If you could share any wisdom with current campus activists what would it be? Don't give up! |

Where you living now and what are you up to? Are you married and/or have any children? I live in Miami and am a student at Florida International University. What is your favorite memory from your HF trip to Israel? Visiting the home of a family in Sderot and understanding the psychological effects on people living in a place so vulnerable to daily qassam attacks. What was the greatest lesson you learned from your Hasbara Fellowships training? Or greatest pro-Israel activism success story? The greatest lesson from training is how to make Israel relevant outside of conflict. What does Jewish leadership mean to you? It means sharing a sense of responsibility that is unique to the Jewish people: To ensure the well-being of Am Yisroel and care for the world through the value of Tikun Olam. If you could share any wisdom with current campus activists what would it be? Enthusiasm is contagious! Stay positive. Talia Salzman
Where you living now and what are you up to? Are you married and/or have any children? I live in Vancouver, BC. I am a student in my last year at UBC and I also work for Hasbara. I am not married and do not have any children. What is your favorite memory from your HF trip to Israel? Aside from all the great people I met, I would say my best memory was the lecture by the author of Start Up Nation. It was inspiring to hear about the achievements Israel has made in terms of engineering let alone other fields. What was the greatest lesson you learned from your Hasbara Fellowships training? Or greatest pro-Israel activism success story? I learned that 90% of people are ignorant about the conflict and that 5% of people will always be Pro-Israel and 5% will always be Anti-Israel. That was probably the most valuable piece of information that I used on my campus. What does Jewish leadership mean to you? It means empowering other Jewish student leaders and leading by example. If you could share any wisdom with current campus activists what would it be? Plan events in advance! Don't wait for your board to talk about it at the next meeting, make things happen! Be proactive and make friends with people in other clubs to build coalitions. |
